Science Fair Interviewers Needed!

We are in need of MANY volunteers to help interview 6th through 8th grade students about their science fair projects in the Old Junior High Gym on Wednesday, March 9 from 7:50 am until approximately 10:30 am (which is an early release day). You do NOT need to have a science background to help. We will provide you a list of questions to ask the students. The interview process gives students an opportunity to show their work to others while practicing essential communication skills. We have been able to conduct the interview process for over 17 years now thanks to our wonderful volunteers. We hope we can continue this valuable experience this year and in years to come. If this sounds like something you would be interested in helping with, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. If you are not able to help this year, perhaps you can forward this message on to a relative or friend who may be interested.  Just a reminder, a volunteer application and background check must be on file at the district office in order to volunteer within the district.  If you need a form, you can access it here:

Students need  a black Poly Folder with prongs for the Science Fair. Some students have brought their folder to school already, if not students need them ASAP.

All folders must be black so the entire 6th grade matches. If students do not bring in a folder, they will make one out of black construction paper like past students.

Newsletter and Social Studies Research Project

Newsletter Week of 9-28

Today in Social Studies, students started researching a region of the United States or Canada. Students are taking notes as “Snapple Facts” and organizing them into a Google Slide presentation.

Please click link below to see grading rubric. All of the research links can be found on my classroom blog in the Social Studies tab. Students will be given time during their Social Studies period to complete all technology components of this project. Projects are due Wednesday, October 7th.
